What it does
DTC Analysis Tool helps turn a vehicle VIN, diagnostic trouble codes, and technician context into a diagnostic report.
Root cause direction helps the user review likely failure areas for the codes entered.
Prioritized diagnostic steps help the user decide what to check first instead of treating every possible cause as equal.
Diagnostic Report is the result area where the tool returns the completed analysis.
How to use it
VIN is where you enter the vehicle identification number. Use the full 17-character VIN when it is available.
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) is where you enter one or more codes, such as P0171 or P0300.
Additional Information is optional. Use it for details that may affect the diagnosis, such as the customer complaint, recent repairs, symptoms, smells, warning lights, or when the issue happens.
Translate Result To is optional. Use it when you want the diagnostic report returned in another language.
Analyze Codes starts the diagnostic report.
Refresh clears the current report so you can start over.
Copy can be used from the report panel when you want to move the diagnostic report into another system or document.
Print can be used from the report panel when you need a printed copy of the diagnostic report.
