VIN Decoder Tool
What it does
VIN Decoder Tool decodes a 17-character VIN so users can confirm core vehicle details before review, appraisal, acquisition, claim, or oversight work.
Vehicle Snapshot shows the decoded vehicle identity and major details after a successful decode.
Selected Safety Equipment shows available safety equipment details returned for the VIN.
Decode Notes shows the decode status or notes returned with the result.
How to use it
VIN is where you enter the full 17-character vehicle identification number.
Decode VIN starts the lookup.
VIN decoded clean means the VIN was decoded without a warning status.
Decode status appears when the decoder returns a warning or non-clean status for the VIN.
Not provided by NHTSA means that specific detail was not returned for the VIN.
