Technician Narrative Stories Tool
What this tool is for
Narrative Stories is a technician tools page for finding saved repair narrative examples.
Saved narratives are reusable examples created by the client user, shared by a business group, or provided as global defaults by SynaNoteAI.
This tool is read-only. Technicians can search, open, review, and copy narrative content, but they do not create, edit, or delete narratives from this page.
Use this tool when you need a reference story for similar diagnosis, cause, repair, or wording before writing your own repair-order narrative.
How to open the tool
Step 1 - Sign in to the tools workspace. Use the Account ID provided by the client user.
Step 2 - Choose Technician. Open the technician workspace role.
Step 3 - Open Narrative Stories. Select Narrative Stories from the technician tools list.
Step 4 - Confirm you are on the right page. The page address is /tools/technician/narrative-stories.
Search narrative titles
Search narrative titles is the search field at the top of the tool.
Step 1 - Enter a keyword. Search by words from the saved narrative title, such as a make, model, symptom, repair type, or common job name.
Step 2 - Select the search button. The list updates to matching narrative titles.
Step 3 - Select Clear search when needed. The clear button removes the search and returns the list to the normal view.
No narratives found means no available narrative title matches the current search.
Select a narrative
Narrative list is the left-side list of available saved narratives.
Step 1 - Review the titles. Each row shows the narrative title.
Step 2 - Select a title. The selected narrative opens in the detail panel.
Step 3 - Use pagination if needed. Select the left or right page buttons to move through additional narrative pages.
Page count shows the current page and total number of pages.
Understand the detail panel
Detail panel is the right-side area that shows the selected narrative.
Title is the saved narrative name.
Personal means the narrative belongs to your client account.
Shared means the narrative was shared by another client user in the same business group.
Global Narrative means the narrative is a default example supplied by SynaNoteAI.
Manual means the narrative was manually saved.
Generated means the narrative was saved from generated content.
Make, Model, and Category show vehicle or job context when those details were saved. If no context is available, the tool shows General.
Updated date shows when the narrative was last updated, formatted in your browser timezone.
Use Cause
Cause appears when the saved narrative includes a confirmed cause or root-cause note.
Step 1 - Read the Cause section. Use it to understand the failure or reason for the repair.
Step 2 - Copy Cause if needed. Select the copy icon in the Cause section to copy only the cause text.
Step 3 - Paste the text where needed. Paste it into another tool, repair-order note, or working document.
Use Narrative
Narrative is the main saved story text.
Step 1 - Read the Narrative section. Use it as a wording reference for the repair story you are preparing.
Step 2 - Copy Narrative if needed. Select the copy icon in the Narrative section to copy the full narrative text.
Step 3 - Paste and adjust the text. Paste it into the destination system and adjust it so it matches the actual vehicle, findings, and work performed.
Where these narratives come from
Client-managed narratives are created in the client dashboard at /client/dashboard/narrative-stories.
Business Group narratives become available when the client user belongs to a business group that shares narratives.
Global defaults are maintained by SynaNoteAI and appear as general examples.
Missing or incorrect narratives should be reported to the client user who manages saved narratives for the workspace.
